My Mom, Jocelyn, Inspires Us

By Eloise T. - January 14th, 2010 in Who Inspires You?

Jocelyn TobiasThe most important lesson I have learned from my Mom, Jocelyn Tobias, is to treasure what life brings you. And that no matter what life throws at you, life will go on and your family and friends will be there for you – especially your Mother! My mom is a strong, independent woman with a heart of gold she wears on her sleeve. She raised us triplets, from girls to women. She says her children are the most valued gift in her life. I feel the same way about my Mom.

Everyone who meets Jocelyn loves her bubbly personality, and her 20+ questions she asks to people she meets.  She does everything for her “girls” and as a Jewish mother, she worries a little too much. She is unbelievably talented with her scrapbooking and even started her own business and website: www.definingmomentsbyjocelyntobias.com  My Mom is a great role model – she loves working out and goes to the gym everyday at 4:30 am. Her dog Maggie is her number one buddy; sports and news are her TV channels of choice, and she is a diehard Cubs fan.

Jocelyn is a beautiful person inside and out, and I count my lucky stars that she happens to be my Mom. My sisters, Sammy and Becky feel the same way!

Happy 59th birthday Mom, we love you!

Who Inspires You?

By Susan Smith Adams - November 12th, 2009 in Who Inspires You?

My Mother passed away peacefully on October 25, 2009 at the age of 94.

She was a very intelligent, very funny woman who was mentally alert until the last moment. That she was a survivor goes without saying, and I believe that in addition to her Swedish genes, it was her sense of humor about life that kept her going. She

Who Inspires You?

October 27th, 2009 in Who Inspires You?

My inspiration in life comes from a woman who has known me since the day I was born, my mom Felicia Andresen. She has always taught me to “look on the bright side” through life’s challenges and does this by example herself.
As a breast cancer survivor she now volunteers her time to talk to other [...]
